When I first started knitting I went and bought a lot of patterns without really thinking, including this Voodoo Doll pattern by Susan Claudino. Gosh, I love arrows.

Being the giant nerd that I am, it’s always a pleasure to attribute geeky themes to my knitting. The moment I saw the ravelry page for Red Katana my brain screamed: ARROWS. MAKE IT IN PURPLE. HAWKEYE!! and so I went and did exactly that. You can’t blame me really. It’s a wonderfully simple pattern that’s very easy to follow (as long as you can keep track of the colour changes) and I’m so in love I want to knit…

A cowl for Merlin

A cowl for Merlin

So those delicious yarns I bought finally got put to good use for the Hawick Cowl. Which I named Merlin’s Cowl because I fell in love with Kingsman: The Secret Service just before I started knitting it and I’m convinced this is something Merlin would wear. Or maybe I’m just daydreaming of Mark Strong wearing nothing but an angora scarf? I will never tell.

Late February blanket

I’m so proud of my blanket, if only because it’s the largest thing I’ve knitted so far. It’s all warm and squishy and my new favourite thing to wrap up in as I continue with other knitting.
