As the colour fades from everything I realise that the best of Autumn has well and truly passed me by. The fallen leaves have lost their crunch and now everything is rotting and dying around me as we creep into that weird seasonal inbetween. Bring on the morning frosts! All my knitwear is waiting!

Autumn colours

Hinchingbrooke Country Park is one of my most favourite places to go for a wander as the seasons change. My standard route through the woodland and back along the river usually takes me an hour, and most times that’s enough to calm my mind a little. Last weekend I had the pleasure of spending a long weekend in the wilds of Suffolk with my wonderful friend Katharine. We stayed in a cute little chalet found through Airbnb which had it’s own large garden area complete with a big pond some truly humongous fish! Knitting while fat

Hey, so… I’m fat. I don’t use the F word to garner sympathy or in hope someone will declare me to be anything but fat. I use it because that’s what I am and I’m ok with that. Most of the time people feel the only way to respond to such a blunt statement is to throw other adjectives at me; I’m curvy, squishy, plus-size, big boned… I’ve heard them all and to be quite frank about the whole thing……

Mushrooms and toadstools and fungus, oh my!

Found a new little spot to walk the dog at the weekend. It’s a small area of man-made woods and grassland a couple of miles away from me; a lovely little spot that’s well maintained and fairly quiet. Cooper enjoyed himself, which is the most important thing. The second is knowing that when autumn rolls around I think the woodland area is going to be a fantastic place to take my camera and hunt down all the mushrooms and toadstools.…
